One might argue that it is more likely that a Medal of Honor recipient will come from a small town rather than a large city because of the characteristics attributed to smaller towns.  Whether or not this is universally true, in the case of Georgia's 27 recipients it is definitely true.  Of the 27 recipients, all but 4 were born in counties with populations below 50,000.  Two-thirds were born in counties with populations below 30,000, and an astounding 50% were born in counties with populations of less than 20,000.
